Glass Gem corn grows ears that are 3-8 inches long with the height of the plants reaching up to 9 feet or more -- but typically averaging 6 to 7 feet in height. The jewel like kernels are a stunning translucent array of rainbow colors. Shucking each ear is like opening a gift, for it is a delight and surprise inside each husk. This variety is good for eating as grits, popcorn, hominy and to make cornmeal for cornbread.
